This two-day event features the combined expertise and experience of Andrew Hauser and Derek Hansen. The intent of this course is to impart techniques and protocols that not only improve the performance of your athletes, but also provide you with strategies for both managing and preventing injuries. Drawing from both their performance and rehabilitation experience, Hauser and Hansen identify clear protocols and assessment techniques for managing athlete health and performance, thereby maximizing their availability and resiliency over their careers.

This event will also place a heavy emphasis on practical demonstration and attendee participation, as we know that hands-on learning makes a more significant impression on individuals. Technology integration will play a big part in all demonstrations to assist with monitoring athlete physiology, mechanics and outputs.

Andrew graduated from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Athletic Training in 2008 and obtained a Masters degree in Performance Psychology in 2020. He has worked in a variety of roles in his 14 years of experience as an athletic trainer and strength coach, with his most recent role being the Director of Performance Rehab with the Los Angeles Dodgers during which time he was a part of their 2020 World Series team. Andrew’s passions lie in both the strength and medical aspects of sport, but also in professional development and education. Prior to moving to L.A., he served as the Director of Health & Performance for the Atlanta Braves where he oversaw medical and strength staff and was able to integrate departments both in the Major League and Minor Leagues all while continuing to develop and refine his and his colleagues’ skills. Andrew’s experience in sport extends beyond baseball. He has worked with a number of athletes in the NFL, NHL, MLS and track/field and has become a sought-after consultant and public speaker for professionals and athletes nation-wide.

Derek Hansen is an international sports performance consultant and educator. He has worked for over 30 years as a sprint coach and has been consulting with professional teams (NFL, NBA, NHL, MLS, MLB, Bundesliga), national/Olympic team organizations and elite collegiate athletic programs for over 20 years. He specializes in speed development, strategic performance planning, return-to-play protocols and electrical stimulation technologies.
